Since the fall of 2015, the Tolyatti concern has produced more than 70 thousand Lada Vesta sedans. The new product created a real sensation among fans of domestic cars. The updated design and modern approach to convenience and safety put the new model on a par with its closest competitors, such as Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio, Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo and others. But in order to firmly gain a foothold among the world's auto brands, AvtoVAZ plans to expand the Lada Vesta model range, adding new body types to it.

Naturally, the full face of the model deserves special attention. The massive black radiator grille with a pair of horizontal bars, in the middle of which sparkles the company’s nameplate, immediately catches your eye. And immediately below it, as if continuing the composition, is the central part of the front bumper, made in a similar style and playing the role of an air intake. Interestingly, this black section narrows in the middle and widens on the sides, creating the silhouette of the letter "X". It was not for nothing that it was said that Lada Vesta adopted the basic ideas of the LADA X Ray concept.
The photo shows that this outline in the form of the letter “X” is limited on the sides by curved silver elements. In the original seats there are “beads” of fog lights, and along the bottom of the bumper there is a slightly protruding arc, which gives the feeling that the car is literally “biting into” the asphalt.
The image of the front is crowned with stylish head optics that successfully combine straight and curved lines. And the headlights themselves are tasteful. Overhanging everything is a sloping hood with rather weakly defined understampings.
In general, the front end turned out to be spectacular and chopped, which only adds aggression to the Lada Vesta.
Climate control unit
At the bottom of the central part of the Vesta cabin there is a climate control unit. Two nice knobs in the form of washers and another monochrome monitor between them, which displays information about the operation of the air conditioner. Let's see how it looks in the interior -

The next feature of the Lada Vesta interior is in the next photo. If you look at the ceiling of a new product from the domestic automobile industry, you can find another control unit, which is responsible not only for the lighting in the cabin, but also has additional buttons. One button disables the passenger airbag. But another central button with the inscription SOS is part of the emergency call complex in the event of an accident. You can report an accident or other incident simply by pressing the “alarm” button, and the system itself will contact the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police. fire and ambulance services, will send your exact coordinates and vehicle VIN. In the event of a serious accident, the system will notify the competent services without your participation. This is what this block looks like.
The little things in the Lada Vesta cabin were given quite a lot of attention. The gearshift lever looks quite good, the panel itself from which the lever is located has a couple of small buttons. So this is heated front seats. The location of the buttons was chosen very well.

A photo of the Lada Vesta from the side no less expressively demonstrates the beauty of the new product. In general, the side part is made quite utilitarian - the roof is slightly tilted back, the doors are medium-sized, the feet climb onto the rear fenders. All this is familiar from a lot of other models. But the highlight lies in the expressive curves made in the shape of the same letter “X”. In the photo it is noticeable that the sides “begin” on the front and rear wings, and the curves run along the front and rear doors, respectively. These stampings are made very clearly.

Even five years ago, few people believed that AvtoVAZ could design and release a car that could be compared with real foreign cars without any concessions. Now, from magazine pages and TV screens, we receive information over and over again that such a car has finally appeared. Its name is Lada Vesta.
But aren't the factory workers wishful thinking? It is extremely difficult to move from the production of obsolete and absolutely unremarkable “semi-finished products” to the production of a truly competitive car in such a short period of time. And only now we have the opportunity to test drive the Lada Vesta and find out how good the long-awaited new Vesta is.
Appearance of the new Lada Vesta
If we rely solely on appearance, it turns out that the sedan can be placed on the same level as its competitors. And due to the fact that domestic cars have not yet filled the streets of our cities, the effect of novelty plays a role. Even owners of expensive foreign cars are looking after the Lada Vesta. And those car enthusiasts who are planning to purchase a new, relatively affordable car in the near future, without any hesitation, inspect the new Vesta that comes their way from all sides.
And the domestic sedan has something to show. A new branded front part made in the X-style, X-stampings on the sidewalls, proportions adjusted to the standards of the class of budget sedans - the appearance of the new Lada Vesta has many elements that will definitely appeal to potential buyers.

The rear of the LADA Vesta is a little more modest. It is decorated with signature taillights with straight lines and sharp angles. The trunk lid turned out to be quite massive and high, as was the line of the rear fenders. But the bumper, unlike those of most models, protrudes back slightly. In addition, it is equipped with only one reflector located in the center. Instead of 2, as is customary now.

Torpedo
The Lada Vesta Torpedo is made monolithically, with a minimum of transitions and a center console protruding forward. A 3-spoke steering wheel with shift buttons rises in front of the driver. And just behind it is a striking dashboard, in which the tachometer, speedometer and other gauges are enclosed in deep wells. The toxic lighting of the devices is no less striking, although not everyone may like this color.
The central console of LADA Vesta is divided into 2 large blocks. A radio and multimedia system were nestled on top, which on expensive versions will be replaced by a large display. Below is the climate unit, which is responsible for the temperature in the cabin. And between them there are other option control keys. The transmission tunnel is made quite neatly, along with the gearshift lever rising there.
The LADA Vesta dashboard itself is made of plain black plastic, which is diluted with light inserts. Moreover, there are quite a lot of them - on the transmission tunnel, steering wheel, center console, air deflectors and other elements.

Power unit
The Lada Vesta has 3 power units. Moreover, the designers provided only gasoline options. They are presented as simple atmospheric ones, which are equipped with injectors and distributed fuel injection.
They have a volume of 1.6 liters, but their power is far from the same. So, there is a 16-valve engine with 106 horsepower and also a 16-valve engine with 114 horsepower.
It is interesting that these two units were developed by AvtoVAZ, but the third engine comes from Renault-Nissan. It is clear that the extraordinary design will affect the power limit, although for now this information is kept secret.
It is only indicated that the new Vesta car will reach the first hundred kilometers in 10.3 seconds, only 0.2 seconds faster.

Transmission
In its luggage, the Lada has a 5-speed manual gearbox, which is designed for engines with 114 horses. The robotic gearbox will be paired with a 106-horsepower engine.
Promising pendant
The car is built on a completely new suspension platform, which included a 5-degree caster and L-shaped arms with fixed steering knuckles. This suspension is installed on a subframe; the engine support points will also be installed on the subframe.
Moreover, on the same subframe there will be an electric power steering column from Renault Megane. By the way, all the steering and independent suspension were borrowed from the Renault Megane RS.
This suspension has improved characteristics than what was previously used on the Lada for decades. In general, the car contains parts of French and Japanese origin, however, in general, the Lada is assembled on a unique base.
If the car is heavily loaded, the ground clearance will not be greatly reduced. The thresholds and bottom were covered with special content, which is designed to protect against gravel and stone on road sections.
Dimensions
What are the dimensions of Lada Vesta? The new car measures 4,400 millimeters in length, 1,765 millimeters in width, and 1,498 millimeters in height. The car weighs 1190 kilograms.
General information about modifications
Today it is known that the new sedan will be sold in 3 main modifications:

So far, these are only the main configurations, but the Russian company has decided to brush aside the template variations and switch to a selectable equipment list policy, which has made it possible to increase the number of selectable modifications several times, which now number 12 units.
This is a very thoughtful move, because then it will be possible to choose a car for any person with his wishes and tastes. Now the cost of the new product is known. For the standard Classic equipment you will need to pay from 514,000 rubles.
Original functionality
As mentioned, the Lada Vesta sedan comes with ERA-GLONASS, a crash box that is integrated into the car’s bumper, a multifunctional steering wheel with various adjustments, and a rear view camera with an image displayed on the display. There are also automated technologies that are responsible for closing the doors when starting on the road, opening them and turning on the emergency lights when the AirBag is fired.
Safety
In the “Lux” configuration, passive safety consists of 4 AirBags, and there will also be side airbags. On cheaper trim levels there will be 1 or 2 AirBags. A Russian-assembled car must pass a crash test as a class leader - 4 stars.
Active safety includes the ABS+ESC Bosch complex of the latest generation, even in the starting version. In the summer of 2015, a Bosch enterprise was launched in Samara, which will begin production of ABS and ISK for Lada.
